About Us
The Society was formed in by 20 members (see photograph), and has had a few different meeting places over the years. Currently, we meet at St Hugh’s Church Hall, Ashby Road, typically on the first Wednesday of October, at . We also have a 5”/3½” raised track at Normanby Hall Country Park on the outskirts of Scunthorpe.
From Easter to October, the track is open on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays from to , giving rides to the public. On most Tuesdays throughout the year, there is a working party to do running repairs and improvements to the track and site; all members are welcome.
The Society is affiliated with the Northern Association of Model Engineers and the Federation of Model Engineering Societies.
